Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Black cherry, dark fruits, and subtle oak make up the friendly and approachable nose of this blend of four Portuguese grapes. We may know Calem for Port, but this table wine delivers style, flavour, and value. Well balanced and harmonious, fruit notes joined by undertones of violet and slate through the palate and finish. Pair with Peri Peri chicken, wine and garlic pork, or Carne Guisada.
Rebecca Meir-Liebman - Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

A good wine considering it’s under $16. Meaty on the palate with very soft tannins and medium-length finish. Unlike many wines at this price point which can taste artificial because of additives, this wine tastes natural, pure, and straightforward. It’s medium- to full-bodied, with a smooth mouth feel.
From the Douro wine region, Calem Curva 2016 is floral on the nose, full-bodied with ripe red, blackberry, spice cake and toasty flavours on the palate. Pair it with a roast of pork. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
