Lovely, aromatic, red florals and garrigue. Wild tart berries and sun-swept happiness. You'd never guess this was 14% alcohol: tastes light-medium, carefree and refreshing. Pair with grilled seafood.

Food pairings: lightly spiced curry dishes, lamb stew, white turkey meat, tacos, salads.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Made from Grenache Noir & Syrah grapes, this Tavel Rose shows an elegant strawberry nose and a dry repeating palate. Very dry mouthfeel, long subtle strawberry/cherry finish. Would be great with salty appetizers, smoked trout salad, or black olives.
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Earthy and floral; dry; citrus; racy acidity; long floral finish. This is a light and refreshing Rose just in time for the warm patio weather. Serve chilled. Perfect seafood accompaniment.
Fun fact: Tavel AOC is the only appellation in the Rhone valley to produce nothing but rose wines. They are also know for their ageing potential unlike most rose wine.
This dry rose is a blend of Grenache Noir and Syrah grapes. The vineyard is located on the right bank of the Rhone with terroirs of sand in the south-west, alluvial terraces and pebbles in the north-west and limestone in the west. Tavel is one of just 16 crus in the Côtes du Rhône and was designated an appellation controlle (AC) in 1937. Tavel is actually the only Rhône AC to make only rosé wine (no whites, reds or sparkling or dessert wines). The blend is mostly Grenache grapes. - Community Wine Reviews
