Natalie's Score: 90/100

Robust, rustic pleasure with aromas of dark red fruit, smoke and cedar. Full-bodied and smooth, crafted from Spain's flagship red wine grape Tempranillo. Perfect for book club get-togethers, especially when you're reading a dark and brooding detective story or murder mystery. The grapes for this wine are all grown on the winery's estate. Then the wine is aged for 1 year in oak. Great balance and finish.

Food pairings: chili, soup, beef, lamb chops, smoked cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

There’s a lovely tomato leaf funk that is classic with Lealtanza wines. It is a good thing. So is the ripe black cherry, spice, minerals, cigar box, liquorice, smoke and dried meat notes. Exceptional wine. 91 Points
Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted June 27th, 2018. Colour cherry red. Legs medium. Aromas and flavours of, cherry, dried blackberry, sour cherry notes, cedar and vanilla. Taste dry plus, fruity, full body, mouthwatering, medium alcohol, finish balsamic, oaky tannin. Crianza 6 to 12 months oak aging. This wine is 12 months in oak. Easy to drink has flavour. Good structure. An everyday wine of good value. Pair with spanish food, meat dishes and spanish cheese.
