Reviews and Ratings

Susan Briggs reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasting Notes
The nose has pleasant notes of red berries, some red currants, dried strawberries, and smoky mocha notes. The flavours on the nose carry over to the palate. With bright red fruits, mocha and vanilla, and some hints of spice on the finish. The acidity is lively and the tannins are firm yet approachable.

Vineyard Notes
Our Black Sage Vineyard, located on the East side of the Okanagan Valley received plenty of sun throughout the Spring and early Summer. Cooler temperatures prevailed during August and September, but Mother Nature was nice enough to bless us with a warm October. We’re expecting big things from our Viognier and Chardonnay as the fruit was top notch. The late ripening varietals which dominate our site are showing rich red fruit and sophisticated structure.

Winemaker Notes
The grapes came in beautifully ripe. The wine was fermented in Stainless steel tanks for about 10 days, it was then pressed off and stored in a blend of French and American oak barrels. The wine then went through secondary fermentation in barrel. It was aged in barrel for 14-16 months before being racked off the barrels and then filtered and bottled.
Food Pairing Notes
Pair with rack of lamb, venison, duck breast, slow-cooked pork, sauteed mushrooms and mature, hard cheese.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
