From Los Chacayes, Uco Valley, Mendoza, BenMarco 2018 is a classic and great value rich and juicy Malbec. Produced by Susana Balbo, the Malbec is concentrated and plushy on the palate with blackberry, blueberry, dark chocolate, savoury herb flavours and made entirely with fruit from Los Chacayes. The wine was aged in neutral oak barrels for just under one year. Lots of power and depth on this unfined and unfiltered Malbec.

Malbec food pairings: beef,  turkey, spicy dishes, tomato sauces, hamburgers.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Beautiful Malbec! This has aromas of blueberry and blackberry fruit, as well as some dried herbs and tea, mocha and woodsmoke. Full bodied, smooth, with some soft tannins, and medium+ acidity. Fruit and berry notes are rich and vibrant, and there is more of that subtle mocha and smoky hint on the finish. Enjoy with any grilled beef or pork.
L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Deep, dark purple wine, full bodied, dry, with vibrant acidity and smooth tannins. Pronounced aromas that start off with juicy blackberry, dark plum and a floral/rose note with herbs that then evolve to include notes of tea with a smoky touch. Worked well on its own or paired with mature cheddar, St Paulin cheese and Genoa salami. I believe it will be even better with another year or two of age.
