A Cru Bourgeois (classified in 1987) with grapes sourced from the left bank of the Gironde estuary in the Haut-Médoc, Bordeaux wine region. Earthy on the nose with ripe dark berries, cassis, savoury herb flavours and well-integrated toasty oak spice, luxurious and silky on the palate. Decant for one hour prior to pouring with a grilled rib eye steak or hold in cellar for a couple of years when it should be drinking at its best.

Food pairings: barbequed steak, barbequed pork ribs, rib roast.

Still a bit young, but a couple of hours in a decanter help smooth out and integrate some of the flavours. Aromas of red berries, dried herbs, warm spice and oak. Full bodied, with firm , young tannins, bright, balancing acidity, and lots of ripe, red berry flavours on the palate. Lots of oaky spice on a lengthy finish. Enjoy now with a grilled steak or hold onto this for 5-10 years.

Chateau Magnol 2016, a delicious Cru Bourgeois from the Haut-Medoc AOC region, offer aromas of red plum, black currant, black pepper, leather, molasse, spice and oak. Owned since 1978 by Barton & Guestier, it received the classification Cru Bourgeois in 1987, underlining professional work and great wine making. Blended from 48% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Cabernet Franc, Chateau Magnol delivers balance, slick tannins and fruit quality. Palate: cherry, plum, bay leaf, leather, spice, caramel and oak. Well made wine. Enjoy!
Love this wine! Château Magnol 2016 is a classic Bordeaux and easy to understand. Rich with dark raspberry, blueberry, cassis, toasted oak spice and sous bois flavours on the palate. Tannins are structured and fine on this elegant Bordeaux blend. Nice now, but would benefit from a little more time in cellar. Try in 2022. If pouring now, decant for one hour and enjoy with a grilled rib eye steak or ripe cheese. Château Magnol's winegrowing history goes back to 1842 when Monsieur Delisse, an experienced agronomist, consolidated the vineyards surrounding the former Château du Dehez. The estate was purchased under the name "Château Magnol" in 1978 by Barton & Guestier. - Community Wine Reviews
