Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Fragrant ripe plum, cherry, leather and oak with soft tannins and good acidity. Leaves a lingering cherry finish. Always great with roast lamb or duck.
Tasted Nov. 2018
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Aromas of black cherry and blackberry, with hints of graphic, leather, and spice with hints of oak. Full bodied with firm tannins that soften nicely with about 45 minutes in the decanter, fruit flavours are ripe and plush, and there are notes of tobacco smoke and leather, with a hint of peppery spice on the finish. This wine was aged 18 months in French and American oak. Enjoy with a grilled steak and mushrooms.
From the Ribera Del Duero wine region, Balbás Crianza 2013 is deep ruby in the glass with violet flecks, and is a full-bodied red wine blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. On the nose, the wine is fragrant with ripe cherry, earthy florals, vanilla and smoke. On the palate, it is zesty with dark fruit, earthy florals savoury herbs, spice cocoa and vanilla. So much flavour going on here. Great acidity for food, enjoy it with a grilled ribeye steak done rare. - Community Wine Reviews
