Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A beautiful small production Chardonnay from Lincoln Lakeshore. Everything about this wine was balanced. Aromas combined soft tropical and bright citrus fruit, and warm, subtle notes from the Canadian Oak. Wild fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in Canadian oak. Again, balanced on the palate, beautiful crisp acidity with some softness from the oak aging mixed with beautiful lemon, apple and a hint of coconut. Delicious and 100% Canadian! Enjoy with soft cheese, chicken or seafood.
Rebecca Meir-Liebman - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A boutique family winery in Beamsville, this husband and wife duo produce some of the most interesting, terroir-driven wines in Ontario. Named “Back 10” after the ten years that passed from the time they purchased the vineyards, to the time they produced their first bottles. This richly golden-yellow Chardonnay has been aged in Canadian oak barrels – instead of the standard French or American oak – giving the wine notes of butter and caramel, balanced by hints of peach and apricot, and smooth acidity. It’s great with roasted poultry such as quail or Cornish hen.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
