Still staggeringly great for the price (like last year). Purple and black plums roll across your tongue with pleasure. Full-bodied and ultra-smooth. Here’s your party wine. Great for a late season barbecue featuring gourmet sausages and lamb burgers.

Carmenere food pairings: gourmet sausages, lamb burgers, venison stew.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A Carmenere from Maule Valley, Chile crafted using hand-picked grapes from old vines. Gives plum, tart cherry, spice, pepper, dark chocolate and coffee on a balanced, well-structured palate. Satiny smooth with delicous mocha finish. Fantastic value here for a flavour-loaded wine! Serve with lamb, venison, blue cheeses, nuts, dried fruit.
Tasted April 2017
Carmenere wine grapes for Aromo Private Reserve (2013) 750 were sourced from Chile's Maule Valley. Founded in 1922, Aromo is a family-owned-and-operated winery. Fantastic value for this perfect for the barbeque red. - Community Wine Reviews
