A full-bodied, intense GSM (Grenache, Shiraz, Mouvedre) red wine blend. Rich and smooth on the palate with ripe blackberry, blueberry, dark chocolate, savoury herb and nutty flavours. Tannins are velvety. Enjoy now and for the next three years. Wine grapes are hand-picked and fermented separately and then blended prior to bottling.

Grenache Shiraz Mourvèdre food pairings: rare rib steak, roast leg of lamb, roast stuffed breast of veal.

Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

The classic Rhone blend crafted Down Under. 41% Grenache from two vineyards, 34% Shiraz from two vineyards, and 25% Mourvedre from a single vineyard. The different varieties and vineyards create impressive complexity on the nose and palate. Ripe strawberry, black pepper, violet, blackberry, red fruit, and subtle smoke in the bouquet. Bright acidity, firm but rounded tannins, and a full body make this equally food-friendly and ageable. Palate is clean, balanced, and accessible with a tasty combination of ripe red fruit, dark fruit, and spice. Each variety was separately hand-harvested, hand-sorted, fermented, and aged in used French oak for nine months prior to blending and bottling. Enjoy this top value GSM with herbed and spiced pork tenderloin.
From the Mclaren Vale, Angove Family Crest 2017 GSM is robust and plushy with blackberry, blueberry, hazelnut and savoury spice flavours on the palate. Pair with BBQ beef ribs. Enjoy now and for the next three years. - Community Wine Reviews
