Tania Thomas - CSW, WSET ADV rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Niagara's Angels Gate Winery has been crafting world recognized award-winning wines for over a decade. Their Handsome Brut is vinified with a 100% chardonnay grapes in the Traditional Method, followed by several years sur lie for complexity. Extra dry, it delivers aromas and flavours of crisp apple, lemon drops, orange zest and brioche with mineral notes and a touch of toast. Fantastic paired with La Sauvagine cheese with its runny ivory body and a taste of fresh butter with a hint of mushrooms. Delightful !!
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

An outstanding sparkling wine, not just for Ontario, but in general. The aromas wow you immediately. Very floral, with white flowers, tart yellow apple, minerality and a little biscuit. The taste is crisp apple, lemon and biscuit. A very pretty wine that will pair well with almost anything.
Gwen Barton rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Wonderful example of a 100% Chardonnay Niagara Sparkling. I am generally impressed with many of Angel’s Gate offerings- this one includes. Fruity notes of red apple, pear and citrus. Generous nuttiness on the nose and in the mouth. Well-balanced with creamy, rich texture. A definite “buy again”. Pair with seafood tempura. Tasted Dec 2018.
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Handsome Brut is a fine example of an Ontario traditional method sparkling wine, made the same way as Champagne, with all the labour intensive processes, and with a similar quality, yet fortunately at a fraction of the price. Immediately upon pouring one is taken by the deep golden colour and the steady streams of fine micro bubbles. The appearance captures your attention and then the aromas of orchard fruit and lemon square makes you really crave that first sip. A dry, crisp and refreshing sparkling wine with terrific mouth coating blanket of fine bubbles that leads to a medium-long tart apple and mineral finish. A wonderful dry sparkling wine to enjoy with rich fare. Beamsville Bench is a wine region in Ontario that continues to impress me with the quality of product it produces. Tasted January 2015. 91+ points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Offers a wonderful aroma of apple and lemon that is joined on the palate by nice flavors of toasty yeast. During our tasting it paired perfectly with creamy cheese.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A delightful dry sparkling wine with citrus and biscuit on the nose, followed by a palate showing citrus, biscuit and a touch of honey.
Neil Phillips rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Traditional method NV Blanc de Blancs - made from 100% Chardonnay.

Very aromatic nose of green apple, lemon zest, slight nuttiness. But really this is crisp apple all the way.

Palate follows through exactly as you'd expect, very crisp with a medium-fine mousse lasting all the way. Tart apple predominates, with minerality. More fruit than yeast, it's medium-bodies. Nice acid holds the fruit to a medium-plus finish.

Great value for a fine local sparkler.

Tasted June 2015.
