Very pleasant and balanced with lovely notes of fresh cherry and field berry. Just enough balanced acidity for a wide range of dishes. Love that this is not a Californian fruit bomb or heavy in alcohol.

Pinot Noir food pairings: grilled lamb sirloin with cocoa rub, barbecued duck sausages, grilled pork tenderloin with cauliflower purée and cherry compote, veal chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Garnet red colour with tart cassis, slight oak on the nose. Palate shows cassis, vanilla, toast and mocha. Harmonious, medium-bodied with a cassis finish-delicious!
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Bright and cheerful light -bodied California Pinot Noir that delivers a fresh nose and palate. Lots of red fruit - raspberry, strawberry, candied cherry, vanilla, and sweet spices. Nice balance. Smooth tannins. Balanced acidity. Approachable Cali Pinot without the heat. Enjoy over the next 3 years. A nice fireplace sipper or pair with assorted cheeses, poultry or pork tenderloin.
Tasted: February 2015
The grapes for the 2013 vintage of the Angeline Signature Reserve Pinot Noir are grown in the Green Valley, which is not actually a sub-region of Sonoma's Russian River Valley. Green Valley does however benefit from the cooling maritime fog as it rolls inland over the vines in the morning before burning off with the afternoon sun. Green Valley is the foggiest and coolest region of Sonoma and the soils have significant deposits of Goldridge soil, which is ideal for Pinot Noir. - Community Wine Reviews
