Lime and lemon essence on the nose. Extremely crisp, refreshing and clean on the palate with marvelous mouth-watering acidity for a wide range of dishes from seafood to salads. Finishes with dried herbs, more green citrus and a long core of minerality. As fresh as a mountain spring sourced deep inside the cavernous soils. Try it with vegetarian dishes.

Alvarinho food pairings: steamed prawn in garlic and lemon sauce, king crab in lemon butter, steamed mussels.

Reviews and Ratings

Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Priya: Dry, crisp, green are words that come to mind. Tastes lemony and tart. I feel like pita and hummus would enhance this wine for me. Not as fruity as I'd like. 85pts

Alex: Beautiful pear, asparagus and spring flower nose, fresh and full of vitality. Very mineral on the palate, with grapefruit peel, unripe peach and grassiness. Fine acidity, and a sparkle makes this perfect for the summer, and with hummus, yes it would do just fine; and with veggie sticks and ranch dip as well. 87pts
Established in 1958, Adega de Monção produces respected Vinho Verde wines. From the sub-region of Monção E Melgaço, this crisp, acidic white wine is made from 100% Alvarinho grapes. Very refreshing. - Community Wine Review
