A superb BC white wine made from the classic Riesling grape with aromas of green apple, lime zest, and lemon. Lots of minerality and racy acidity for seafood.

Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Delicious and fresh example of quality Riesling from B.C. Though the idea of B.C. wine regions brings to mind the hot, arid sunshine of places like the Similkameen desert, there are cooler pockets in Oliver, Summerland, Okanagan Falls, Kelownaand Vancouver Island. Basically south is warm and the north gets progressively cooler.
This one comes from estates owned by 8th Generation Vineyards. These are old vines (planted in the early 1970s, which is as old as Canadian vines generally get). Natural yeasts and conscientious picking jave made a lithe, crisp, and complex Riesling that is actually to die for.
Pale, bone-white colour. Quite high alcohol ( but carries it superbly).
When you open it, it is zesty. Lots of lime and lemon rind. Though it is described as off dry, one would hardly notice. Tons of acid and decent body lift that up. Some exotic sorrel and fern to the aromas. Fresh fresh fresh.
It actually needs some time in a decanter, if you can manage it.
Wonderful flavours. Not very bold, but complex amd interesting. A green, herbaceous zing cuts through the palate and works well with the acidity. Tons of stone fruit (nectariney) and citrus (grapefruit and lime). Somewhat tropical notes of pinapple, banana, and a subtle honey come through too.
This vintage was pretty mich sold out the moment I found it. Their production is low; their prices are excellent.
Put these with some bay scallops, crab cales, and potato salad.
