Darlene Myers rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

When I was taking my first wine fundamentals course, this was one of the wines we reviewed. The 2009 Chateau St. Jean La Petite Etoile Vineyard Fume Blanc is a mouthful to say, but a pleasant mouthful of wine on the palate. Crisp aromas of lemongrass and vibrant acidic flavours of kiwi on the palate. A winner in my mouth!
Matilde Parente rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A richer, less tart style of Sauvignon Blanc that still delivers lemony freshness with moderate weight and a smoky, lingering finish. Pairs beautifully with Meyer lemon shrimp risotto, white meats, lemon-dressed salads and appetizers.

Natalie's Review

Chateau St. Jean Fumé Blanc 2009, Sonoma County, California, United States: Stunning lemon brightness pierces through the rich voluptuous texture of this wine like sunlight through a cloud. Gorgeous notes of Asian pear and green apples are wrapped in toasty oak for a long, satisfying finish. Fall-for-it smokiness gets you right into the glass, then your engulfed in lemon and lime essence that is supported by an underlying richness. Full-bodied and balanced. I terrific wine for the money. There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
