A stunning BC - Bordeaux-style blend made from 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc, 10% Petit Verdot and 3% Merlot. Aromas of blackberries, plums, and black cherry, mingled with hints of tobacco, warm spices, and a touch of vanilla. Full bodied on the palate, smooth with some rounded tannins and bright acidity. Fruit flavours are rich and bright, and there are some smoky, spicy notes on the finish. Lovely balance, at almost 5 years old, this is still fresh and bright, with tons of life left.

Burrowing Owl Estate Winery Meritage 2018, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia BC V.Q.A., Canada: Burrowing Owl 2018 Meritage is a dry, full-bodied and rich red wine blend of 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc, 10% Petit Verdot and 3% Merlot. Each varietal was aged separately in oak barrels (70% French) for 15 months prior to the final assemblage. The final blended wine was aged an additional three-plus months in barrel prior to bottling. Look for bright flavours of cassis, black cherry, spiced plum, savoury herbs and soft vanilla notes. Beautifully balanced and well-crafted by the winery's founder and winemaker, Jim Wyse.
