Matt Steeves rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Inniskillin's Montague Vineyard Chardonnay showcases the best from their finest single vineyard site in the Four Mile Creek sub-appellation of the Niagara Peninsula. Golden yellow, this expressive Chardonnay shows ripe orchard fruit, melon, toast and lanolin on the nose. Full bodied and very creamy, look for baked apple and wood spice on the long finish. Enjoy this premium low production (400 cases) Chardonnay with crab cakes, calamari, or your favourite grilled fish with freshly squeezed lemon. Tasted July 2022. 92 points. Jennifer Havers rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A beautiful, stunning, Chardonnay from an historic Vineyard in the Four Mile Creek area of Niagara-on-the-lake. The aromas are fresh and bright, including pear, golden apple, and pineapple, along with a subtle hint of vanilla. Medium bodied, creamy and soft on the palate but still exploding with bright, fresh fruit on the palate. Lovely balance, with a lengthy finish showing notes of warm spice, oak, and vanilla. Everything in lovely balance. Enjoy this with lobster or pan-seared scallops.

Natalie's Review

Inniskillin Montague Vineyard Chardonnay 2020, Four Mile Creek, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada: The Chardonnay grapes for Inniskillin's Montague Vineyard 2020 Chardonnay are sourced from a single vineyard in the Four Mile Creek sub-appellation located on the Eastern side of the Niagara. The vines were planted in 1982 and thrive in clay loam pockets on top of the Queenston Formation (bedrock that forms a significant piece of Ontario) and are exposed to intensely dry summer heat. That heat, along with the rapid cooling which takes place at night, produce extremely ripe and tropical-fruit Chards with structure and plenty of aromatics. Dry, medium-bodied and balanced with juicy acidity and layers of ripe apple, pear fruit, tropical fruit, lemon curd, vanilla, apple pie spice, buttercream and toffee flavours on the palate. Enjoy with a roast breast of veal with pear butter. Drink: 2022-2025. 238642 13.50% D 750 mL  $25.95 Score: 91/100. July 16, 2022 Top Rated White Wine. Cool Creamy Cheese Wine  Full Review
