Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Le Vieux Pin Syrah Cuvée 2018 Violette is produced from 99% Syrah and 1% Viognier. Straight off the top the nose on this wine is fragrant with, well you guessed it, violets, as well as rich cherry, plum, fine herb and savoury aromas. On the palate this dry, fruity, medium-plus-bodied and elegant Syrah is so silky, sensual and liquid luscious and long with a kiss of pepper on the finish. The wine was fermented in cement, oak and stainless-steel tank with 10 months ageing in a mix of concrete, oak casks and six months in neutral French oak barrels. Pour with a duck confit and roasted small potatoes. This is a beautifully-crafted Syrah that is so good now, but will continue to evolve for the next five years. However, the 2018 vintage is already difficult to find! Tasted February 2021.

Natalie's Review

Le Vieux Pin Cuvée Violette Syrah 2018, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, V.Q.A., Canada: From British Columbia's Okanagan Valley, Le Vieux Pin Violette 2018 is a beautiful, elegant Syrah produced by winemaker Severine Pinte, who is originally from southern France. So good with violets, rich ripe cherry, savoury herb, anise and pepper spice flavours on the palate. A lighter style, medium-bodied and refined Syrah with fresh acidity and elegant, fine tannins. Well-crafted and beautifully balanced. Drink: 2020-2024. 966902 12.90% XD 750 mL  $61.95 Score: 92/100. June 11, 2021 Top Rated Red Wine. Best Beef Wine  Full Review

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
