From British Columbia’s Thompson Valley, a beautiful Burgundian-style Chardonnay for Valentines Day, or brunch, or après ski, or just about anytime. Medium-gold with green fleck in the glass, fragrant with peach blossom, apple cobbler, citrus tart and toasty oak aromas on the nose. Dry, full and luxurious on the palate with honeyed stone-fruit, buttered pastry, lemon custard, mineral and well-integrated toasty oak spice creamy and weighty on the palate. The Chardonnay grapes for the 2017 vintage were harvested from 28-year-old vines from the Devonshire Vineyard on the Naramata Bench. This Chard was 100% barrel-fermented in French oak barrels and rested in barrel on it lees for another seven months giving it added creaminess and finesse. An elegant Chard produced by Winemaker, John Woodward. Pair with creamy Butternut squash risotto and eggs Benedict with Hollandaise sauce. We paired it with a baked oyster pot pie.
