Baron Philippe de Rothschild's Escudo Rojo Reserva is an impressive value-priced Cabernet Sauvignon from the outstanding 2018 Chilean vintage. Ripe plum, dark berries, vanilla bean, and herbs on the nose and palate. This medium-full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon is ripe, smooth, and ready to enjoy now with braised dishes, BBQ fare, or firm cheese. Tasted March 2020, 89 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Jennifer Havers rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Lovely and a great value! Aromas of blackberry, black currant, eucalyptus, smoke, and spice. Full bodied and smooth on the palate with soft tannins, ripe, dark berry and currant notes, and a warm, spicy finish. Enjoy with braised beef or lentil stew.
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A versatile Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile with black berry and currant aromas. Plummy and herbal on the palate with medium tannins, leading to a lighter finish. Pair with red meat and firm cheeses.
Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Superb value. Black and red fruits are abundant, plenty of fresh plums. Highly attractive. Ready to drink, tannins are smooth and pliable. Try with spice crusted lamb kebabs with lambs lettuce. @wrightwineblog
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

An easy drinking Cabernet Sauvignon, replete with ample raspberry, cherry and black fruits on the palate. The palate is fairly vibrant with a medium finish. Highly approachable, great for a party sipping wine or serve with lamb burgers. Tasted January 2020. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
