Jennifer Havers rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Sample tasted as part of a California wine month seminar “California – Then and Now”. Lovely, rich wine with aromas of ripe golden apple and pear, along with hints of brioche and biscuit. Medium bodied, smooth and soft on the palate, with lovely rich fruit notes, and creamy texture with just a hint of a textured bitter note (in a good way) extending out the flavours and providing a hint of interest. Enjoy with classic roasted chicken or any seafood pasta in a creamy sauce.
Alana L rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Nestled halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, Edna Valley Vineyard is just five miles from the Pacific Ocean with refreshing breezes and warm sunshine. Luscious and fresh, rich with notes of orchard fruit (green apple and pear), citrus, pineapple, caramel, and cream. With crisp acidity, present minerality, a certain savoury quality, a generous and textured mouthfeel (20% is fermented in used oak barrels with partial malolactic fermentation) it’s creamy and rich yet remains fresh and has a slight bitter grip at the ends that tingles the palate! Would pair beautifully with lobster or scampi in butter sauce, a lobster roll in a warm buttered bun – think seafood by the sea! It’s beautiful value for money and although inexpensive is a wonderful expression of Chardonnay – definitely overdelivers for the price!

Tasted as part of the "California Wine Month Master Class: California Then and Now", a master class showcasing classic California wines, regions and range of styles and beautifully hosted by writer and speaker, Elaine Chukan Brown and California Wines.

Natalie's Review

Edna Valley Vineyard Central Coast Chardonnay 2017, Central Coast, California, United States: A lusciously layered Californian Chardonnay sourced from the Edna Valley where the cooling sea breezes funnel inland. Rich and robust with tropical fruit, ripe red apple, butterscotch, toffee and spicy vanilla flavours creamy on the palate. Fantastic value under $20. Rich Chardonnay pairing made easy with lobster in butter or cold smoked turkey sandwiches. Drink: 2019-2022. 984153 13.70% D 750 mL  $21.95 Score: 90/100. May 20, 2021 Top Rated White Wine.
