Structured and complex wine from The Foreign Affair Winery, located in the Niagara Escarpment, the conspiracy 2017 delivers flavors of plum, strawberry, black pepper, sweet tobacco and oak. Well made ripasso style wine with a coating finish. Tasted at Taste Ontario, March 2020.
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

jA medium-bodied blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, this wine was made in the ripasso method of drying grapes to add more flavour and body.
Dried berries in the aroma, with medium tannins and leather on the palate to a dry finish. Pair with BBQ or red meats in a rich sauce.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Using the dried grapes of the ripasso method gives this concentrated dried fruit on the nose with inviting raspberry and warm hay notes that carry to the palate. The tannins are chalky and fine. Slightly tart on the finish. Pair with grilled beef or vegetables. Tasted Dec 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
