I like light and lively wines like pinot noir, but my occasional treat is a deep, hedonistic wine from Priorat. Hot and rugged, grapes from this region struggle and are therefore very intense. inky, dried plum, leather, dark chocolate.
Colin McKone rated this wine as
90/100 with the following review:
Deep dark ruby in colour with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, plum and dark chocolate. It is full bodied with grippy tannins and high acidity. On the palate you get flavours of tart black cherry leading into a long dark fruit finish. This will pair well with grilled red meats. Tasted on November 17, 2019.
Malcolm Lamont rated this wine as
89/100 with the following review:
A big, bold and brooding 2016 Priorat, this wine delivers stewed plums, prune, earth and savoury spices. This is a steal for the price and a real blockbuster of a wine!
With medium plus tannins and lots of fruit, you can drink now or hold for 3-5 more years.
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 rated this wine as
88/100 with the following review:
This a blend 40 percent garnacha and 60 percent cariñena from the Priorat Mountains in northeast Spain. The grapes are fermented by variety and vineyard and then blended after.
This is a nicely balanced wine. Dark fruit, pepper and spice on the nose. Smooth tannins and medium body.
An easy drinking wine that will pair with a variety of dishes.

Aromas of black cherry, raspberry, leather, warm spice, and some subtle oak. Full bodied, with smooth , bright red fruit on the palate, with some subtle tannins, and a hint of ripe berry and spice on the finish.
Craig Haynes rated this wine as
90/100 with the following review:
Full bodied and spicy. This red is well balanced, offering up delicious doses of dried red and black fruits followed by leather and mocha. A fine companion for BBQ and hearty stews.
Wineboy rated this wine as
87/100 with the following review:
Richly extracted colours with lovely complexity. Dark cherry fruit, subtle but well integrated wood flavours lead to a long full finish. A touch of warmth indicates the major element of Garnacha in the blend.
