I tasted this vintage back in 2017 and thought it would be worthy of at least 5-10 more years. It has mellowed a bit with age, but still lots of life remains. Lots of smoke and dark cherry along with a hint of mocha, cedar, and sweet tobacco on the nose. Full bodied and smooth, tannins are softer and rounded. Berry notes are more dried and subtle with notes of eucalyptus and graphite. I would say this wine has rounded out but still quite lovely and still more aging potential remains. Keep for another 5-10 years.

What a treat to be able to buy a bottle of Bordeaux that has been pre-aged! And from the Pessac region, which always seems to deliver the most beautiful minerality, finesse and elegant tannins. This wine, made from biodynamic grapes (grown according to the phases of the moon), has a slight brick colour at the edges due to the 9 years of age, but the nose and palate are youthful. Delicate chocolate orange tones with a hint of leather and a wet stone mineral finish leave you wanting another sip. Serve with teriyaki Tuna. @wrightwineblog
