Matt Steeves rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

A fantastic expression of Napa fruit, from Mount Veeder Winery, situated in the Mayacamas mountain range in the heart of the finest winemaking regions in California, smack dab between Sonoma and Napa. A blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, and 2% Malbec, it’s both powerful and expressive, showing ripe black berries, raspberry, cherry, figs, mocha, spice, and scorched earth. This impressive, and modestly priced, Napa Cab displays a beautiful integration of fruit, spice, and smooth tannins producing an approachable and very well structured wine that’s ready to enjoy now and will benefit from a decade of cellaring. A great wine to enjoy with grilled steaks, and would make a wonderful gift this holiday season. Tasted September 2019. 93 points. Matt Steeves – www.quercusvino.ca
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This is the entry-level Cabernet from Mount Veeder Winery (the winery is eponymously named for AVA in which most of its wines are sourced). The Veeder AVA is one of the most sought after in Napa. Younteville and Oak Knoll are districts on its slopes and as a member of the Mayacamas Mountain chain, it is the halfway point between Napa and Sonoma.
The wine, itself, is a good quality wime for the money. One with a lot of character and oomph, but still some lovely fruit and balance.
Rich and glasscoating purple-red and with a touch of natural sediment. If you bought a wine this big amd fine, you're likely to decant anyway.
Loads of fleshy cassis, cherry, plum, and some mint and dill. There are some lovely oak notes of Chocolate, baking spice, and a touch of new leather.
Moderate acidity amd the alcohol is not too over the top.
Pair this with some steak tartar or some skewers of meat and veg.
Maybe keep it 5-7 for those flavours to meld a bit better.

Natalie's Review

Mount Veeder Winery Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, Napa Valley, California, United States: A big Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from the elevated hillside slopes of Mount Veeder that cling for their live on rocky, steep soils. Powerful and robust with ripe black currant, black plum, savoury herb, anise and fried bacon flavours on the palate. Purely yummy but needs a little taming time. Hold in cellar for three years and enjoy for the next 15. Drink: 2023-2032. 708842 14.50% D 750 mL  $69.95 Score: 91/100. September 18, 2019 Top Rated Red Wine.
