The Hacienda Araucano 2015 Clos de Lolol is a gorgeous wine from the Colchagua Valley of Chile. Blended harmoniously from 35% Syrah, 25% Carmenere, 20% Cabernet Franc, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot, this wine reveals an intense bouquet of plum sauce, blackberry jam, black olive, black pepper, tobacco leaf, expresso and oak. Full body, a velvety finish and polished tannins, the wine shows nice structure and will please the Chilean wine lover on any occasion. Palate: dark skin plum, black currant, lavender, leather, allspice, dark chocolate and oak. Delicious wine. Enjoy!
Courtney Flood rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Full bodied and sensual, with dried fig, cherry, chocolate and gingerbread. Great value, good pairing for a hearty winter stew.
Simon Chen rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

I don't normally agree with JS score but this time, I actually find this wine has a very good QPR. I drank the wine over 3 days and the aromas and flavors got more and more interesting over time. It didn't become more complex but i got very interesting minty and herbal flavors that were covered by the dark fruits and chocolate flavors initially.

A very interesting blend and would definitely try other vintages in the future!

From Francois Lurton, who was one of the early French adopters in Chile, this is planted on ungrafted rootstocks in a single vineyard. It is a blend of syrah, carmenere, cabernet franc, cab sauvignon and a dash of petit verdot. It is deeply coloured ruby-black, with a lifted, quite vibrant nose of cassis/cranberry, capers, evergreen and inset oak vanillin and spice. It is full bodied yet vibrant and juicy at the same time. The flavour focus and length are excellent. Some heat and green tannin but decent value in classic Chilean red. Tasted August 2019

Natalie's Review

Hacienda Araucano Clos De Lolol 2015, Lolol Valley, Colchagua Valley, Chile: Produced by François Lurton, a full-bodied lush red blend with dark berry, dark chocolate, fresh herb and earthy flavours on the palate. Finishes long and luxurious. Good cellaring candidate for about three years. Enjoy with meaty dishes. Drink: 2021-2025. 464362 14.50% XD 750 mL  $29.95 Score: 88/100.
