Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

The oak influence cannot be ignored, though it is not overstated, but nicely integrated into this complex and layered wine. Vanilla and oak spice mingle with peach, mango, and citrus notes. Very buttery and creamy on the palate with generous fruit and firm acidity. Exquisite balance, expressive nose, just a delight. Match with baked ham with cloves or cedar plank salmon.
Rebecca Meir-Liebman rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A buttery, full and creamy nose - Rombauer Carneros has everything you’d expect from a textbook Californian Chardonnay. You can definitely taste the creaminess and buttery notes that come from the extensive lees stirring finishing practices. Notes of golden delicious apple, almonds, and vanilla follow a sip of this Chardonnay as a pleasant after taste. Most enjoyable with deep fried dishes, as the oakiness will then balance out next to a more fatty dish, and in return release the inherent freshness instead.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This is an archetypal California Chardonnay with a buttery, oaky nose just restrained enough to allow for an underlying citrus note. It is rich and silky smooth with oak evident on the palate. Long finish. If you are a fan of bold California Chardonnays this one is for you. Serve with herbed chicken or turkey. Tasted July 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
