A step up in quality and interest from the regular reliable go-to Villa Maria Sav. Oozing with granadilla (passion fruit), fruit salad, tropical tones and ripe melon. It has a balanced acidity with a long lingering finish that makes you want to sip this rather than glug it. Try it with a pumpkin, chorizo and kale frittata. @wrightwineblog

Villa Maria is always a reliable choice and this Sauvignon Blanc is no exception. Classic grassiness and herbaceous notes on the nose and palate here without being over the top. Underlying tropical fruit notes balance the savoury nicely. Smooth with a nice acid backbone. Herbal notes linger on the long finish. Serve with herbed quiche. Good value.
