A very herbaceous style, with a good black cherry and plum skin core. This wine needs another year or two to come together. Pair with lamb sirloin or braised beef. 88 Points.

A classic, popular wine the world over, this affordable Bordeaux red blend is a perfect wine to have on hand for any occasion. You will enjoy dark plum, black pepper and fresh herbaceous aromas and flavours. Medium-bodied with approachable tannins, this wine pairs well with aged cheddar. Tasted June 2019.
Jennifer Havers rated this wine as
88/100 with the following review:
This wine is approachable and widely available. If you tried this year's ago, it is definitely worth re-visiting. Primarily Merlot (83%) showing bright red fruit, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Cabernet Franc, adding structure and a bit of spice. This wine has a hint of oak on both the nose and the palate along with some dried herbaceous notes, and some smooth tannin and peppery spice on the finish. Enjoy with any grilled meat or mushroom dishes.
Cora Beaulieu rated this wine as
85/100 with the following review:
The Bordeaux Rouge shows a red garnet color. On the nose, the wine is restrained with hints of cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant, then notes of refined spice, especially cinnamon, develop. The palate is nicely developed, with a delightful mix of red and dark fruit concentration, overlaid with earthy, toasty oak, and dried herbs. Balanced tannins. This wine reveals a long and complicated finish of blackberry flavors and toasted notes. PS. The Shore Club served "New York Steak Sandwich, cooked to just shy of medium, with tomato bruschetta, feta and balsamic." Very classic pairing.

This Bordeaux blend is enjoyed in 150 countries around the world, making it one of the most popular value-priced Bordeaux wines available. A blend of 83% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 7% Cabernet Franc, showing the strength and harmony of the Bordeaux AOC and Cotes de Bordeaux AOCs, in a dry and food friendly style. Expressive blend of fruit, herbs, and spice, that shows great balance with delicate tannins persisting on the finish. Enjoy with grilled beef, venison, and aged cheddar. Tasted June 2019. 88 points. Such a well made wine from the Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Mouton Cadet 2016 offers a prestigious and well renowne brand. The 2016 offers agreable aromas of blackberry, dark skin plum, violet, black pepper, leather, baking spice and cedar. Balanced with a medium body and an appealing fruity finish, this wine shows the savoir faire of the amazing chateau. Flavors of black plum, blueberry, bay leaf, black pepper, smoke, crushed almond and oak. Good day to day wine. Enjoy!
