Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

The fruit for this Syrah is sourced from the Edgerock Vineyard located in the Vinemount Ridge sub-appellation of the Niagara Peninsula, with a south-facing slope. This wards off late Spring and early Autumn frosts and gives late-ripening grapes the longest exposure possible to achieve desirable characteristics. Syrah needs all the help it can get in the cool Niagara Peninsula, and when it gets what it needs, it produces wines like this beauty. There is a balance of ripe and jammy dark fruit, notably dark cherry, plum, and blackberry. The combination of American and French oak lend some barrel spice, while varietal characteristics of black pepper, meat, tar, and smoke round out the bouquet. While not as extroverted as the 2016 vintage, this fine Syrah will dazzle for years to come as an equally complex, formidable, and ageworthy wine, especially when matched with steak au poivre.
L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Taste of Ontario 2019 @ Ottawa: Medium ruby colour, dry with balanced acidity and tannins. The wine spent 12 months in a mixture of 80% French oak and 20% American oak barrels; one third were new and two thirds were older. Aromas of dark cherry and red fruit, dusty floral and mineral. Tasted of dark cherry, with red currant, and some mineral. Grilled lamb chops with rosemary and thyme should pair nicely.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
