Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Baron de Ley Reserva 2014, is a delightful crowd pleaser, from the Rioja Valley of Spain. Vibrant aromas of fig, dried blackberry, mustard seed, black pepper, parmesan cheese, vanilla, game and oak. Medium body, with a great balance, this Tempranillo reveals hints of smoke and dried fruit. Palate: sour cherry, died blueberry, dried leaves, volcanic rock, cigar box, wood burner and oak. An amazing value wine, great for any occasion. Enjoy!
Monique Sosa rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Sumptuous stewed black plums, dark bitter chocolate and spice notes. Developing chewy tannins, balanced acidity, long lingering black fruit flavours... and the price is right! Enjoy slow smoked bbq ribs. Tasted May 2019 by @sommsosa
Jon Steeves rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Fantastic find, this is an accessibly priced, full bodied, old world Rioja, great concentration, well balanced, inky, chewy mouthfeel, huge tannins, still integrating, with ripe red and black fruit, aged leather, baking spices. Pairs well with roasted red meats. Tasted 2014 vintage in May 2019. 90 points #goodvalue
Jennifer Havers rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Aromas of blackberry, smoke, leather, vanilla and a hint of warm spice. Full bodied with firm but smooth tannins, and a nice blend of fruit and smoke on the palate. Nice acidity and overall balance. Pair with grilled meats or hearty stews.
