Borne of Fire Owned and overseen by Columbia Valleys Chateau Ste. Michelle. An appealing Washington Cabernet Sauvignon. A pretty, deep dark ruby colour with a charming bouquet of cassis, boysenberries, ripe cherries and wet earth. Also featuring fine floral fragments of rose petals, orchids and pink peonies. Flavours reflect and echo this, adding some blueberry pie filling and plummy vanilla. Dry with lingering baked strawberry fruit sweetness. (7g/L) Medium plus acidity, body and full velvety tannins. Will hold up well to hearty dishes like beef stew, chilli or seared duck breast. Not just for meat lovers as it has great versatility and will accompany grilled portobello and veggie lasagna admirably. 92 points - tasted December 2018

Natalie's Review

Chateau Ste. Michelle Borne of Fire Cabernet Sauvignon 2016, Columbia Valley, Washington, United States: A savoury, juicy, full-bodied Washington red made from the classic Cabernet Sauvignon grape. Aromas of blackberry and cassis with a weave of smoke. The phoenix on the label is the mythical bird that rises from the ashes. The vines are planted on land once covered in flames, and thus rise from the ashes renewed. Pair with grilled meats and hope. Drink: 2018-2022. 633651 13.50% XD 750 mL  $29.95 Score: 91/100. The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
