Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan. A dark and intensely coloured wine with the smoke, game, and tar notes of Syrah mixing with black cherry, wild strawberry, and black olive. Large but balanced proportions of body, acidity, and tannins. A high powered wine in a value package. An ideal pairing for wild game and grilled fowl.

Always such a reliable, friendly and easy drinking wine from a solid producer. This is a grenache-based red from the warm Mediterranean Roussillon. Expect generous, jammy strawberry-cherry fruit, fresh basil/tarragon herbs and some iron-like minerality. It's medium-full, plush with some heat and dusty tannin. The length is very good; as is the value. Last tasted July 2019
L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Deep purple colour with a medium intensity nose. Aroma of dark fruit, including cherry, with a herbal note. Off dry, medium bodied with medium tannin and balanced acidity. Nice smooth taste of dark fruit, very pleasant with lamb chops grilled with olive oil, garlic and rosemary. Syrah, Grenache and Carignan is one of my favourite blends and this is a very pleasant sipper.
Jane Staples rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

What great value here! Even with January's stripped-down budget you can enjoy excellent wine. The 2017 vintage is just as pleasureable as the 2016, with its silky, aromatic and tangy blend of Syrah, Grenache and 10% Carignan. Lots of dark berries, plums, spice and dried herbs on nose and palate. Well-structured and sensuous, a flavourful wine from first to last sip.

Chapoutier another fantastic vintage for Les Vignes De Bila-Haut 2017 and fantastic value. Wine grapes are grown organically and biodynamically for this zesty, full-bodied red blend of Syrah, Grenache and Carignan. Sensuous, flavourful to the last sip. look for dark berries, plums, spice and dried herbs on nose and palate.
