Greg Hughes rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This wine was produced in Carneros, an intetesting AVA overlapping Napa and Sonoma. Its reputation tends towards Burgundian grapes, including sparkling iterations (though there is plenty of diversity among producers, here).
Nice, sunny golden-yellow.
Medium to full bodied aromas of apple amd apple caramel. Some lemon zest and subtle smokiness. It still is a malo chardonnay, but a balanced one leaning more on purity of fruit.
This is true on the palate too. Some well retained, but balanced acids. Refreshing and satisfying citrus and orchard fruit. Generous midpalate built up from 10 months of lees stirring off the unracked wine.
Clos Pegase are a great choice for the new California Chardonnay approach, which is away from the butterbombs of ten and twenty years ago.
They go through a lot of effort to preserve their fruit character of this single vineyard option.
Specific yeast strains, very slow, gentle pressing, and careful elevage in barrel make this a pretty sweet value for a suave new world Chardonnay.
Pair this beauty with some scallops done in brown butter and served with some wedge salad..
