87/100 with the following review:
A single varietal Carmenere from Chile, this wine leads with green pepper (so typical of the grape) in the aroma along with mint, pepper and dark fruit. High tannins provide some heat still with a medium finish on the palate. Decanting or further aging is recommended. Serve with savoury meat dishes like lamb tahini. Tasted December 2019.
Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as
91/100 with the following review:
Leads with a combination of potent green pepper and hot pepper, followed up by fresh dark fruit and black coffee. Bright acidity and firm, grippy tannins. Pepper and espresso through the long finish while the tannins will not let go. Quite good now, better with another one or two years in the cellar to settle those tannins. Try this with grilled or roasted red meats, especially beef with a ground coffee bean dry rub, sometime in the early 2020s.

89/100 with the following review:
Accessible and good value, this medium full bodied Carmenere weighs in at 14% ABV, offering a slightly tart, approachable red with medium acidity and balance. Paired well with a beef stir fry and would love to try this with a braised osso bucco. Tasted 2015 vintage in June 2019. 89 points

Envero Gran Reserva 2015, from Apaltagua in the Colchagua Valley, Chile, shows an amazing purple color and aromas of blackberry, plum, green peppercorn, mineral and sandalwood. Blended from 90% Carmenere and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, this full bodied wine has a long finish and a nice balance, Carmenere is the power grape of Chile, fruit-driven with a good alcohol balance and a perfect touch of Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine provides many options for food paring. On the palate, plum, cherry, spice, pepper, tobacco and sandalwood express themselves from the first sip. Pair with red meat and blue cheese. Enjoy.

Apaltagua ‘Envero’ Gran Reserva Carmenère 2015
DO Apalta, Colchagua Valley $18.95 (481010) 14.0% alcohol
Opaque, dark purple in the glass, this offers black plum and savory herb aromas on the nose. It rolls in endless waves over the palate with nicely structured mouthfuls of crunchy red fruit—cranberry, cherry and passionfruit—interweaving with cassis and perceptible supple tannin. This is medium-plus weight with good mouthfeel and a dry, lengthy finish. Aerate/decant for two hours pouring with grilled striploin. (Vic Harradine)

I was going to give this wine a score of 89 and then it's finish made me go to 90. Big aromas with huge herbal characteristics typical of Carmenere..Smooth and rich in the finish. Enjoy with marinaded BBQ lamb chops.
