Looking to try something new or buy something different for the wine lover in your life? I suggest you give orange wine a try.

No, it's not made with oranges, but is a style of wine that has spent time in contact with the grape skins, giving the wine an amber or orange color.

Aromas of yeast with flavours of tea, nectarine and apricot. This one is filtered and looks absolutely lovely. Other orange wines might be non-filtered and look cloudy.

Sip this one on its own in the summer or pair with a semi-sweet peach-based dessert.

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Made from Vidal grapes fermented on the skins, this orange wine lives up to its name. A pretty light pale peach colour with, nectarine, yellow flowers, soft orange skins and delicate orange pekoe tea touches. Flavours envelop dried peaches, cinnamon spice, and honeysuckle softness. Acidity is well balanced. Interesting and intricate. Pair with soft cheeses. 88 points - tasted July 2018
Cherie Cole rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

If you're looking for a fun, summertime wine, this one might fit the bill. This orange wine from Reif Estates gets its colour from skin-fermented white Vidal grapes. You'll find orange blossom and honey aromas and flavours with a vibrant acidity. Pair with soft goat cheese or seafood salad. Tasted July 15, 2018.

Natalie's Review

Reif Estate Winery The Sun Vidal 2017, Niagara River, Ontario VQA, Canada: A fascinating Niagara wine! You might think it's rose, but it's more an orange wine, having skin-fermented the vidal grapes. Lovely aromas of orange clementine, white florals and honeysuckle. Perfect as an aperitif or companion to seafood. Drink: 2018-2020. 408013 10% D 750 mL  $24.95 Score: 90/100.
