A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Corvina with a decadent bouquet featuring cooked berries, spices, clove, dark chocolate and stewed tomatoes. Flavours show strawberries, leafy herbs and a crisp stony minerals finish. Acidity is high with well integrated- pronounced silky tannins. Deliciously dry and grippy! Lovely lasagna wine. 89 points - tasted July 2018

On the nose, there are juicy blackcurrant aromas along with violet, lilac, chocolate, cinnamon, and hints of black pepper.
On the palate, it is full bodied with structured tannins and dark fruit flavours, with hints of red berry, baking spice, cocoa, and smoke. It has a lingering finish.

Ruby in colour with aromas of cassis, leather, violet and plum with flavours of plum, black cherry, black pepper with some oak. It is full bodied with grippy tannins and a has a long red fruit finish. This will pair well with a plate of cheesey spaghetti and meatballs. Tasted on July 15, 2018.
Cherie Cole rated this wine as
91/100 with the following review:
Notes of violet, dark plum and a hint of oak, this blend of Corvina and Cabernet Sauvignon with its grippy tannins and medium-full body would pair perfectly with a rare grilled steak. The finish is long, with a sour cherry finish. Tasted July 15, 2018.
Luc Delorme rated this wine as
87/100 with the following review:
Right off the nose, it's clear this this Italian wine breaks from old-world tradition. Bright fruit appears first, followed by a hint of volatile alcohol.
The palate is equally bold: high acidity, heat from the alcohol and significant tannins make this a highly structured wine. The flavours of smoky, oaky, fruit are very pleasant, but almost take a back seat to the structural elements.
Without a doubt, this is a big wine. New World drinkers may appreciate the wine on its own, but I would definitely prefer this with a good hearty beef dish.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as
92/100 with the following review:
Stewed plum and vanilla on the nose with baking spice, earth and lots of red fruit dominating the palate. A blend of Corvina and Cabernet Sauvignon. Tannins were a bit tight so decant well before drinking. Would pair great with grilled steak. Tasted July 2018.
