Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

The Trebbiano from Hester Creek Estate Winery is the only one of its kind produced on the Golden Mile Bench in the Okanagan Valley. Wine grapes are hand-harvested from 50-year-old vines -- the oldest vines on the estate. The Trebbiano 2017 is pale gold in the glass with light herbs, fresh fennel bulb, citrus and a light minerality on the nose. On the palate, it is dry (less than 9 g/l sugar) with white florals, light grassy and green herbs flavours, soft tropical notes and finishing satisfyingly long and creamy with zesty citrus on the palate. A natural with great acidity for food, we paired it with a goat cheese and arugula flatbread and grilled endives, brushed with olive oil and garlic scape salt. Delish!

This 2017 vintage was awarded Silver in the 2018 All Canadian Wine Championships and in the 2018 Cascadia Wine Summit.

Natalie's Review

Hester Creek Estate Winery Block 16 Old Vines Trebbiano 2017, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia V.Q.A., Canada: A lovely, vibrant BC white wine made from the aromatic Trebbiano grape. The vines are planted in block 16 at Hester Creek back in 1968. These old vines create a rich, concentrated character. The 2017 vintage features aromas of clementine, orange blossom, and smoke. Pair this with fresh seafood. Drink: 2018-2021. 13.50% D 750 mL  $22.95 Score: 91/100. June 23, 2018 Top Rated White Wine.  Full Review

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
