Expressive aroma of floral bouquet, black cherry and plum. The palate offers black fruit, cocoa and some spice. Finishes with lots of black fruit notes and moderate tannins. Tasted July 2018.
David Skinner rated this wine as
91/100 with the following review:
Dark Garnet with a slightly purple rim. Blackberry, black cherry, pepper and hints of floral fragrances on the nose. Plenty of ripe dark fruit on the palate with the accent particularly on dark plum and blackberry aspects. Slight cocoa and earthy notes as well. Firm tannins that are well balanced with the fruit. The finish echoes the tastes with fruit leading the parade and oak rounding out the experience.
Pair with braised lamb shanks and roasted onions.

This rich, robust red from Australia boasts aromas of raspberry, strawberry and earthy violets with a hint of smoke. The body is full with silky tannins and flavours of ripe raspberry, plum, vanilla and smoke. Pair with lamb chops. Tasted July 15, 2018.

89/100 with the following review:
Aromas of black fruit, pepper, warm smoky notes. Full bodied, firm tannins, and lots of ripe black fruit and pepper on the palate. Nice length on the finish. Decant for an hour and enjoy with a perfectly grilled steak.
Melanie Lloyd rated this wine as
90/100 with the following review:
On the nose, this is a fragrant Australian Shiraz with loads of floral notes, violet and lilac, as well as juicy aromas of black plum, ripe strawberry, and raspberry. On the palate, we are more on the dark fruit spectrum with tart blackberry and plum, followed by espresso, sweet spice, and smoke at the finish. The tannins are moderate and the finish is long. Overall, very tasty.

92/100 with the following review:
Aussie SZ have to have 4 things to hit a home run with me. Big fruit, heavy body, softer acids, and ample oak. This one covers all of these. A value at $22. If you like Aussie SZ don't miss this one. Drink now or expect a long plateau should you age it.

Dandelion Lioness Of Mclaren Vale Shiraz 2016, Mclaren Vale, South Australia, Australia: These winemakers see the devil in the weeds, allowing dandelions to grow among the vine as they suppress other weeds and provide nutritious mulch. The "wishing clocks" of white seed in the spring provide new life. The Shiraz grapes are sourced form a single vineyard in the foothills of the McLaren Vale. The vines are planted in ironstone pebble laden with clay loam, over ancient Kurrajong Formation geology of silica cemented conglomerate ideally suited to grow Shiraz. Full-bodied, robust and rustic with full-throttle black fruit, smoke, oak and spice aromas. Polished tannins and a long finish. This single vineyard Australian red wine is made from the Shiraz grape. Bunches are hand-picked in mid-March and fermented together in open top fermenters with ambient yeast and hand plunging for 12 days before basket pressing and aging in mostly French oak barriques before bottling without fining. Decant 1 hour and pair with rare steak. Drink: 2018-2022. 357475 14.50% XD 750 mL $21.95 Score: 91/100. November 24, 2018 Top Rated Red Wine. Best Beef Wine Full Review
