Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Oh Yum indeed! Deep ruby in the glass with spicy aromas, sugar plums and smoke on the nose. Upper Bench Merlot 2014 is dry with dark plums (I'm reminded of plum pudding with every sip), savoury herbs, cake spice flavours all wrapped up in a light veil of smoke on the palate. Well-crafted, balanced, refined and super elegant. Enjoy with a beef tenderloin and romance. Upper Bench's estate vineyard is sustainably farmed.
Jennifer Havers rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

This Merlot is spicy, plush, and full of flavour. Lots of ripe plum, smoke and pepper on the nose. Full bodied, smooth tannins, and lots of fruit on the palate, along with a bit more of that smoke and spice on the finish. These wines are all estate grown, and aged in French oak (30% new) for 20 months. Enjoy with lamb, elk, or mushroom dishes.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
