Tasted side-by-side Villa Maria 2017 Cellar Select Sauvignon Blanc

Luscious gooseberry, grass and tropical fruit on the nose. Sour notes of green apple and lime on the palette. Lovely lingering finish. Would pair well with smoked salmon, chives and capers.

Tasted July 17, 2018
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A light, mouthwatering New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc from Villa Maria. Aromas of pears, starfruit, kiwi, fresh grass and a hint of wet stone. Flavours reveal white grapefruit, starfruit, lemon zest, and pithy tartness. Soft and bright with white pepper heat lingering into the crisp finish. A good pairing for summer salads, seafood and herbed goats cheese. - tasted July 2018
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Aromas of peach and tropical fruit with pineapple and citrus notes on the palate. Crisp acidity throughout. Pair with shrimp scampi. Tasted July 2018.
Jon Steeves rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Bright and brilliant pale gold. Complex array of tropical fruits, guava, mango, ripe pineapple, green melon and savoury. Gorgeous mouthwatering acidity. Tasted fantastic with Vietnamese salad and spring roll appetizers. Good value option. Crowd pleasing appeal. Tasted 2017 vintage in April 2018. 90 points
