Love those Grenache/Shiraz/Mataro blends! This one, from Barossa Valley, South Australia, shows yummy aromas and flavours of strawberries and dark berries, spice and smoke with mouthwatering acidity. Great with steak or roast red meats.

The Thief? Grenache Shiraz Mataro 2015, Barossa Valley, South Australia, Australia: Jammy raspberry and strawberry fruit on the nose and palate of this rich, full-bodied, smooth Australian Shiraz. This is a traditional Australian GSM blend: Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro (aka Mouvedre). Winemaker Tash Mooney says the wine is named in honour of his great grandfather who in the 1840s agreed to mind a cow for a neighbour who was away for several months. The cow died of old age, but the neighbour accused him of theft and subsequently he was excommunicated by the church and buried outside the fence of the Catholic church cemetery.
