Lynn van der Linde rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Brilliant garnet in the glass, aromas of ripe red cherries, vanilla, white pepper and hints of liquorice, carry through to a spicy cherry finish. Balanced tannin and acidity - very food friendly.
Pairs wonderfully with red meat or sausage pizzas.
Tasted Sept 2018.
Colin McKone rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Ruby in colour with aromas of black cherry, plum, anise and black pepper. It is medium bodied with well balanced acidity and tannins. It has flavours of ripe dark fruit and black pepper. This will pair well with roasted red meats or chicken. Tasted on September 16, 2018.
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This wine is super approachable. I am loving Nero d'Avola from Sicily. They have great acidity and purity of fruit but are not overbearing. This wine is no different, showing red plum skin, black cherries, fresh herbs, camphor, and a bit of smoke. 89 Points.
Simon Chen rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A wine that will pair nicely with BBQ. It's rich and dense on the palate and good grip and acid to pair with smoky meat. 13.5% alcohol but you get the rich fruits without feeling to alcohol.
Samer Forzley rated this wine as 81/100 with the following review:

On the nose, dark fruit, plums, musty and earthy, nice coffee smell
Taste: Cherry, plums, coffee

Mid+ acid, Mid+ tannins (needs a bit more time to age). Long finish with plums and coffee

Pair with a meat dish

Natalie's Review

Mazzei Zisola 2015, Sicily D.O.C., Italy: Terrific black fruit aromas and espresso notes on the nose and palate of this southern Italian red wine made from Sicily's iconic red wine grape Nero d'Avola. Some anise and pepper on the finish. Lushly weighted and fulsome with lots of layers of pleasure. Pair with grilled chicken or roast beef.
