Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Established in 1897, the Nino Negri winery is the premier estate producing top quality wines in the Valtellina Valley in the Lombardy region of Italy. This wine is produced from the vineyard of the same name, "Fracia". Extremely steep hills adorn the south facing 16 acre vineyard comprised of granite gravel and sand. For the production of this wine, the must is macerated for eight days and then aged for sixteen to twenty months in small French oak casks. The wine is bright garnet in the glass with lovely aromas of spice, blackberry, herbs and red roses. The palate offers an drying mouthfeel, with persistent flavors of plum, blackberry and hint of wood spice on the finish.
Jon Steeves rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Tang and tart. Cherry, rhubarb, savoury. Well structured and designed to pair with food. Huge acidity, medium red fruit, medium tannins. Pairs well with spicy and salty charcuterie or tomato based classic Italian dishes. Tasted 2015 vintage Dec 2017. 91 points.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
