A nice little wine with cranberry sauce, red cherry, candied flower, and warm spice notes. A hint of caramel on the finish. 89 points.

Aromas of maraschino cherry with some smoky plum and black cherry on the palate. Very soft tannins and a soft finish. Would be a crowd pleaser at a BBQ. Tasted March 2018.

Red fruit on the nose with earthiness and hints of smoke. Medium bodied (lots of Merlot here) and dry on the palette. Would be a crowd pleaser as would be a good balance between the light-bodied and full-bodied crowd.

(Tasted March 13, 2018)
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby colour, medium plus intensity aromas of dark cherry, super ripe red strawberry, chocolate covered cherries and toasty oak notes. Flavours of grilled cherries, dark plums, roasted red peppers. medium plus acidity, body and tannins with a full body. There is some tannin added by the wood. Some interesting and evolving flavours present with a bit of layering. Pair with grilled beef ribs, pork chops and lamb chops. 89 points. Team tasting November 19, 2017

Ripe red fruits with hints of wood. Earthy and spicy on the palate with smooth tannins. Licorice and leather flavours on the finish. Pairs well with hard cheeses and red meat.

Reif Estate Winery Cabernet Merlot 2016, Niagara-On-The-Lake, Ontario VQA, Canada: An incredibly great price for such a juicy, full-bodied, full-flavoured red wine blend of Cabernet and Merlot! Fleshy ripe black plums and berries on the nose of this robust, dry Niagara red wine. Pair with grilled meats and barbecued anything. Drink: 2017-2020. 565713  13% XD 750 mL  $14.75 Score: 89/100.
