Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This blend of 90% Sangiovese/10% Canaiolo is spicy and fruity on the nose and palate. Hints of plum, somewhat lively on the palate. Fairly significant chalky tannins on the finish. Served with Gruyere and Pecorino Toscana cheese per Francois Chartier's recommendation.
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Bright ruby red in color with ripe plums, cherry, coffee, spice, tobacco, mushrooms and violet on the nose and palate. A hint of heat on the mid-palate, well balanced with a lingering spicy finish. Perfect with your next feed of bison in a mushroom cream sauce or a scrumptious duck confit salad.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby colour with a garnet hue. Deep staining tears with aromas of stewed fruit, dried herbs dark chocolate, coffee, graphite and pencil shavings. Flavours offer cherry, blackberries , tar, pencil graphite and shaving notes again at the end with some heat. Also a touch of red grilled bell peppers. Medium plus acidity, body, tannins and finish. Smooth, well rounded and spicy. Decant up to 2 hrs before. Rich stewed beef dishes and creamy strong cheeses and sun dried tomato/olive tapenade will complement this wine wonderfully. Tasted October 2017 - vintages release.

Natalie's Review

Carpineto Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano Riserva 2012, Tuscany D.O.C.G., Italy: This dry Italian red wine has lots of racy. mouth-watering acidity. Aromas of dark fruit and toasty oak. Dusty, savoury, classic Italian red wine with aromas of lovely tart black cherries, cedar smoke, violets. Nicely integrated nuances of oak and vanillin. This robust red has a good grip on the palate so decant for 1-2 hours then enjoy with prime rib. Drink: 2017-2020. 368910 13% XD 750 mL  $33.95 Score: 91/100. April 28, 2018 Top Rated Red Wine.
