89/100 with the following review:
Light gold with a slight copper hue. Aromas of apricot, pear, honey and herbs. The medium acidity supports the primary fruit delivered on the nose with a mineral lift on the finish.
Jennifer Havers rated this wine as
88/100 with the following review:
This Pinot Gris is a off-dry and with a lot more body than expected, given its delicate colour. Aromas include pear, honey and a warm spicy note. This wine is slightly oily on the palate, giving a lot more body and mouthfeel which is nicely balanced by some bright acidity. Medium-long finish. The body and acidity on this wine would make it a great match to a variety of foods, but you could try this with pork tenderloin or grilled chicken.
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as
90/100 with the following review:
The fruit for this wine was carefully sourced from the Waiata Vineyard located in the Waipara winegrowing region. This region has warm days and cool nights - thus the intense, rich flavors and natural acidity. This Pinot Gris is medium sweet and a little different compared to other vintages - lots of fresh citrus, pear, and spice. There is an incredible purity of fruit in the glass, with a cleanliness and crisp acidity that is very refreshing. This wine is very versatile with many foods- namely New Zealand shellfish, pork and chicken.

A vibrant floral and fruity Pinot Gris from Thornbury. With aromas of peach and stone fruit, honeysuckle, melon, aromatic apple blossom and pear. Flavours also reflect these with some peach and apricot and pear fruit. Soft butterscotch notes, creamed caramel and hints of butter creaminess. It has a lively oily texture and mouthfeel. Medium acidity, body and finish. Dry, but with a touch of sweetness at the end.
Pair with Pork, shellfish and terrine.

Pale coppery straw colour. Ripe Bartlett pears, honeysuckle, and citrus aromas. A fruit-forward, medium sweetness, and slightly oily wine with a textured mouthfeel and a lingering taste of ripe pears and crisp acidity. Score 89. (S.Segard, reviewed Sept. 25, 2017)

The grape is sourced from the Waipara region, where the climate in this region is also suitable to grow Riesling. This wine has a nice floral, tropical fruits to the nose. It is medium sweet and has honey-like texture that coats your palate. If you like a more fruit-driven pinot gris, this is a one to try!
Jane Staples rated this wine as
90/100 with the following review:
A rich, medium-dry Pinot Gris made from grapes grown in New Zealand's Waipara region. Shows delicate citrus, pear, honeysuckle, lychee and spice notes. Unctuous texture makes this PG a great match for white meat, pork or scallops.
Tasted September 2017 with the winemaker, Simon Fells.
Pamela Chiles rated this wine as
90/100 with the following review:
Delicate yet tasty, off-dry young Pinot Gris with pretty floral, lemony-grapefruit and pear aromas and flavours. Has a certain, rich complexity the further you investige. Very nicely done. Paired well with pork chops with grilled summer vegetables.
