Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted blind at wine club Nov. 15, 2017. Colour dark ruby red, legs thick suggest high alcohol. Aromas and flavours of, blackberry, black cherry, meat. Taste, fruity, dry, grippy tannins, mouthwatering. Finish, dry chalky tannins black currant, medium minus.
The group ranked this 4th out of 5. I ranked it higher I felt it had potential and may need more cellaring. I would recommend food with this wine roast beef would be my choice. The price suggests a buy and hold type of wine for that special family or friends dinner in the future. Worth the risk. If you want, try to look for an older vintage to try now.
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A full bodied South African red blend (Cabernet Sauvignon 49%, Merlot 38%, and a touch of Cab Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec) with aromas of blackberry, cassis and oak. Firm tannins and tight fruit on the palate - cherry, blackberry, dark chocolate, cedar and oak. Complex and concentrated.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
