Jane Staples rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A dry mouthwatering blend of Sangiovese (55%), Merlot (20%) and Syrah (25%) from Italy's Tuscany IGT. Aromas of tart cherry, vanilla and earth predominate on the nose, with more plum and subtle spice emerging on the smooth, elegant palate. Enjoy with mushroom pâté. A great Mother's Day gift.

Colin McKone rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Ruby in colour with aromas of black cherry, plum, and smoke. It is medium bodied with balanced acidity and tannins with flavours of cherries, plum, raspberry and spice. This will pair well with tomato based dishes. Tasted on May 6, 2018.
Jennifer Havers rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

A nice balance of bright and tart cherry mingled with some smoky, earthy notes. Vibrant acidity. Perfect pairing for pasta and pizza.
Simon Chen rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Coming from a cold vintage of 2014 in Tuscany, this sangiovese/merlot/syrah blend gives high acidity. The merlot and syrah help to round the texture, which make it very pleasant to drink at this moment. Will pair well with meat pizza

Natalie's Review

Ruffino Il Ducale 2014, Tuscany IGT, Italy: A robust, juicy Italian red wine blend of Sangiovese (55%), Merlot (20%) and Syrah (25%) grapes. This Tuscan red wine offers great aromas of tart dark cherry and earth with some smoke. Lots of racy acidity for tomato sauce and spicy sausages. Smooth and full-bodied. There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
