Sylvain Segard rated this wine as
89/100 with the following review:
The Trapiche Broquel is a wine made of berries picked from 25-year old Malbec grapevines. The wine has a slightly dusty deep ruby robe and a seductive aroma of dark luscious fruit and a gentle oak fragrance. The wine feels round, almost chewy in your mouth and its high tannins are well integrated with the juicy cherries, ripe plums, and floral notes. The finale is long fruity and a bit smoky. Score 89. One of Trapiche’s oldest products, made using grapes harvested from 25 year old vineyards growing between 900 and 1200 m above sea level. Offers a very mellow nose with ripe Damson plums, floral notes and touch of smoke, repeated on the elegant palate. Mouth-watering acidity and silky tannins make this wine beg for food. An excellent choice with beef or lamb dishes and great value.
Tasted September 2017.

Broquel is one of the oldest labels in Trapiche Winery. This malbec is a fun summer bbq wine. It's perfumy with a touch of smoke. On the palate, it's vibrant, rich, and sweet. Medium body and Medium finish.

This elegant and intense 100% Malbec hails from Argentina’s Mendoza Valley. Vinified with the grapes from 25-35 years old vines grown in the high altitude vineyards, 900-1200 m above the sea level. Nose reveals seductive floral notes. On the palate, it delivers pronounced aromas and flavours of ripe black cherries, blackberries and plums with a touch of minerality. Closes in a lingering smoke-tinged finish. A given as a pairing with grilled meats, mushroom sauces and matures cheeses. Score: 91/100. Tasted September 2017. Tania Thomas – www.runawaygrape.com

91/100 with the following review:
Medium purple color. Aromas of blackberry, black cherry, plum, tobacco and a touch of earthiness with slight floral notes of violet. In the mouth a marriage of black cherries and plums with smoked pepper and dark roasted cocoa. Medium body, acidity with a higher expression of velvety tannins with a touch of black pepper lingering at the end. Plummy and juicy, great to pair with food. Roasted red meats and game.

The word Broquel means "family shield" in Argentina. This bold wine offers excellent structure, intense concentration, and plenty of dark fruit. There are soft silky tannins and a hint of oak. This wines screams to be served with meat, meat and more meat!

Great balance! Tasted 2015 vintage in August 2017. Fantastic pairing with Bison burgers. 90 points. BespokeTastings

Trapiche Broquel Malbec 2015, Mendoza, Argentina: A dark purple-violet hue in the glass with gloriously thick, slow tears that slide down the side and belie the robust weight, body and alcohol in this wine. Notes of black cherry, toasty oak, cigar box, espresso and dark spice. Superb price for this quality wine. Pair with grilled meats. Drink: 2017-2019. 234385 14.50% XD 750 mL $16.20 Score: 90/100.
